Have a Brilliant, Fantastic, Prosperous and Healthy 2008

...And so it is 2008....my, where do the years go.

I’ve had a very refreshing break and during that time had occasion to reflect on a number of matters which I think are important...particularly so now that I am, shall we say, “with wiser head” I call it the value of experience.

The Value of Experience

We take many things for granted in this life - until we’re faced with their antitheses. It’s only then that we can fully appreciate them.

So, when next interacting with a child or young person, remember the wisdom which experience has provided. I’ve reflected on this because I’m now a proud grandmother and share these thoughts with you for what they’re worth.

We do not understand:

Joy - Until we face sorrow

Trust - Until we are betrayed

Faith - Until it is tested

Peace - Until faced with conflict

Love - Until it is lost

Hope - Until confronted with doubts

We also often don’t make the most of the time available to us. Remember, time waits for no one. Treasure every moment you have. The beautiful part about a new year – and this year is extra special because we get a FREE day - is that we have 8,784 hours to achieve something.

Consider the importance of these time frames:

To realise the value of three years: Ask a graduate.

 

To realise the value of one year: Ask a student who has failed a final exam.

 

To realise the value of nine months: Ask a proud new mother

 

To realise the value of one month: Ask a proud mother who has given birth to a premature baby.

To realise the value of one week: Ask an editor of a weekly newspaper.

To realise the value of one hour: Ask the lovers who are waiting to meet.

To realise the value of one minute: Ask a person who has missed the train, bus or plane.

To realise the value of one-second: Ask a person who has survived an accident.

To realise the value of one millisecond: Ask the person who won the silver medal at the Olympics.

 

 

Make 2008 a brilliant, fantastic, prosperous and healthy year in every way by jealously guarding those 8,784 hours.

Robina Commercial – Time To Stake Your Slice of The Future
